Sistem Informasi Pendaftaran Anggota Baru Perpustakaan di SMA Negeri 1 Penukal Utara Kabupaten Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir Mengunakan Metode Waterfall

Abstract

Manually registering new library members often faces obstacles such as messy data, slow recording processes, and the potential for data loss. Therefore, a computer-based information system is needed that can help simplify and speed up the process of registering library members. This research aims to design and develop a New Library Member Registration Information System at SMA Negeri 1 Penukal Utara using the Waterfall Method. The Waterfall method was chosen because of its systematic and structured approach to software development, including the stages of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing and maintenance. In the analysis stage, user needs and system specifications are identified. The design stage produces a system design that includes the database structure and user interface. Implementation was carried out by developing a web-based application using the PHP programming language and MySQL database. The research results showed that the system developed was able to simplify the process of registering new members, increase data accuracy, and minimize recording errors. Apart from that, this system also provides a fast and efficient member data search feature. Based on testing, the system succeeded in meeting user needs with a high level of satisfaction. By implementing this system, it is hoped that it can make a positive contribution in increasing the efficiency of library data management at SMA Negeri 1 Penukal Utara. In the future, the system can be further developed by adding features such as book management and statistical reporting.
